When you send the value to the market, it is a SOX payment written to Bearer, currently. The market does try and tell which payment to write to, but there was a glitch. As the lower level (SOX) guaruntees a secure connection to the market this isn't so much of a problem. When the market sends back the goods and change, it does a direct payment straight through the issuer, and passes you back the receipt. This is done for reliability at the market, it knows you are paid and doesn't have to worry about outstanding payments (i.e., your Trader being lazy and not cashing the payments returned). iang From iang@systemics.com Sat, 18 Nov 2000 16:12:23 -0400 Date: Sat, 18 Nov 2000 16:12:23 -0400 From: Ian Grigg iang@systemics.com Subject: [Webfunds-users] Trader-1-0-5 I've just loaded up Trader 1-0-5 on the Systemics site at http://www.systemics.com/download/README.html Which sorts out a number of issues: * Unwound a systemically recursive bug to do with multiple SOX servers and mail... Not fixed, but ignored, so sorted out in the end by code that follows. * Lots of cleanup on printing of numbers, so that prices and quantities are more consistent. Also, some classes have migrations built into them, but not yet activated. Lots more work to come. * Now handles shares (actually, that requires WebFunds 1.7.4, not this upgrade). * Market now trades pints of beer demo currency against the Glitter money. See the WebFunds cheat sheet for some explanation. * Trader now accepts a default money listed in the market.loc file. Also, that money can have some traded contracts listed against it to add by default. Manually, one would create an account and add the Glitter first as it is the money. Then add the pints of beer second. Or, Trader would now do that automatically, assuming that the contracts are in the Contract Browser already. See the market.loc file for how it is done within this package. Once you have installed this version (download it and then use the Plugins/UpgradesBrowser to add it), you can Rename your account(s), which will then register this as a nickname at the market. This will be displayed against any order, and you will then be able to see other nicknames as well. WebFunds is now on 1.7.4, you'll need that for Best Results (tm). I'm hacking in some changes remotely so won't be terribly quick to respond to any requests for a few more weeks. After hitting Run, all that happened was this error: [hand/stop UNABLE TO LAUNCH JAVA APPLICATION sign icon] The main class "webfunds/client/Core" could not be loaded. Either it is not in the classpath or has a static initializer that uses a class not in the classpath. [OK button] Any ideas? I have a fear that this is something basic and stupid, but this is my absolute first attempt at anything Java-related, so I'm "differently clued". Look at the run.bat for the DOS version (I don't know DOS either...). Secondly, in theory, if you unzip it over your previous one, it should work, but I don't know for sure as the DigiGold.net distribution might have moved some stuff around. If you haven't put any metal in there yet, then I suppose you've nothing to lose :) > I believe that I should have 1.7.4 for the Trader 1.0.5 > plugin. It always helps to have the latest. I try and make Trader compatible to some extent with lots of versions of WebFunds, but I don't promise that, our "testing department" is not very large! -- iang From sejalshah@hushmail.com Wed, 29 Nov 2000 11:49:02 -0500 (EST) Date: Wed, 29 Nov 2000 11:49:02 -0500 (EST) From: sejalshah@hushmail.com sejalshah@hushmail.com Subject: [Webfunds-users] Re: WebFunds-Users digest, Vol 1 #83 - 1 msg --Hushpart_boundary_DjuoRMcCcKxRFvTXpxaQprSdmvmQIbmp Content-type: text/plain Hello Bob, At the Digigold Website soon there will be Webfunds 1.7.4 and trader 1.0.5 plugin . For the time being you can use webfunds 1.7.3 to get some digigold .You need to go to www.omnipay.net as they are exchange provider for digigold and exchange it with your e-gold,(it is self explanatory what you need to do to obtain Digigold on the site ) because the only way to obtain digigold is exchange with e-gold you have . Then you can just overwrite the webfunds 1.7.4 over 1.7.3 once it is there on the digigold website. C.Evans kindly replied: It could prove intriguing to do this via email. Bear with us as we go through this step by step. Have you downloaded WebFunds 1.7.4? Which utility did you use to unzip it? I've found that StuffIt Expander does something strange during decompression. I use MacZip, which you can find at: http://www.sitec.net/maczip/download/MacZip105c.hqx Try unzipping with MacZip, and starting over from scratch. There is no need to alias swingall.jar, since you can add it from wherever it resides. The files do not need to all be in the same folder. Let me know how it goes, and we'll progress from there. -------------[added to this post]------------- Once you have completed the Mac Prepare, hit Save Settings... and make sure that Save as Application is checked. Then, hit Run. <#include proPythonRant.h> C.Evans
